| Function | Clears heat, nourishes yin, tones stomach, generates saliva, clears lungs and nourishes stomach. It is particularly helpful in cases of yin deficiency, red tongued, no tongue coating, and with insufficient saliva. |
| Clinic Usage | For warm-febrile disease which injures internal liquids, thirst, irritability, and consumptive fever after illness. |

| Dosage | 6~12g. 15~30g if using fresh herbs. To use with other herbs, this herb should be decocted before adding others. To use it alone, it should be decocted for extended hours. |
