Peking spurge root, euphorbia
 Grown  South and east China.
 Source  The dried root of Knoxia valerianoides Thorel ex Pitard or Euphorbia pekinensis Rurp.
 Ingredients  Ursolic acde, ?-Sitosterol
 Pharma Effect  1) The liquid or ether extract does not have diuretic effect. 2) The herb preparation has a dilation effect on the capillary ending and elevates the contraction of uterus. 3) Constrains hypertension caused by epinephrine.
 Properties  Sweet, bitter, cold
 Channels  Heart, liver
 Function  Drains dampness from heart and liver, dispels congested fluids and phlegm, reduces swellings and dissipates nodules.
 Clinic Usage  For edema, clogging phlegm, nodules and toxic swellings.
 Cautions  
 Dosage  9~15g. Use proper dosage externally. Smash the herb and apply to wounds.
 Storage  Store in a dry place.

 Source  The dried whole leaf of Cirsium japonicum DC. And its family.
 Ingredients  Pectolinarin, Chlorogenic acid, Cirsitakaoside
 Pharma Effect  
 Properties  Sweet, bitter, cold
 Channels  Heart, liver.
 Function  Cools blood, stops bleeding, removes blood stasis, regenerates tissue, lowers blood pressure constantly, reduces blood cholesterol and carbuncles or swellings.
 Clinic Usage  For blood expectoration, nosebleeds, uterine bleeding, heavy or incessant bloody discharge, vaginal discharge, blood in the stool due to intestinal wind, acute appendicitis, carbuncles, toxic swellings and furuncles.
 Cautions  
 Dosage  9~15g. To use externally, use proper amount of fresh herb. Smash, then apply.
 Storage  Store in a dry, well-ventilated place.
