Ingredients	Arecoline, Arecaine, Arecolidine, Guacoline, Phenylalanine, Proline, Stearic acid, Capric acid, Catechin, Procyanidin, Arecatannin
Pharma Effect	1) Effect on central system: the intravenous injection of arecoline stimulates brain stem and cortex brain wave. Cats appeared to have various automatic involuntary symptoms. 2) Effect on smooth muscle: arecoline has a similar effect as that of pilovarpin
Properties	Acrid, slightly warm
Channels	Spleen, stomach, large intestine, small intestine
Function	Directs qi downward, augments middle, promotes urination, unblocks small and large intestines.
Clinic Usage	For stifling diaphragm due to phlegm blockage, edema, beriberi, difficulty urination and cholera symptoms.
Cautions	Contraindicated in cases of deficient qi and loose stools.
Dosage	4.5~9g
