 Source  The dried bark of Magnolia officinalis Rehd. Et Wils. or Magnolia officinalis Rehd. Et Wils. Var. biloba Rehd. Et Wils.
 Ingredients  Magnolol, Honokiol
 Pharma Effect  1) The decoction can be used as a broad spectrum antibiotic. 2) Has a muscle relaxation and central nervous system constraining effect. 3) Strengthens stomach, alleviates pain and is a sedative.
 Properties  Bitter, acrid, warm
 Channels  Spleen, stomach, lung, large intestine
 Function  Dries dampness, eliminates phlegm, directs qi downward and reduces distention.
 Clinic Usage  For stagnant dampness which injures the middle, a sensation of fullness in the epigastrium, vomiting, diarrhea, food accumulation, stagnant qi, distended abdomen, constipation, phlegm retention, coughing and wheezing.
 Cautions  This herb is warm, dry, and directs qi downward. It is contraindicated for patients presenting internal heat and insufficient body fluids. Use with caution during pregnancy.
 Dosage  3~9g
 Storage  Store in a dry, well-ventilated place.
