Magnolia bark
 Grown  In central and south China.
 Source  The dried bark of Magnolia officinalis Rehd. et Wils and its family.
 Ingredients  Magnolol, Honokiol
 Pharma Effect  1) Cardiovascular effect: the herb dilates blood vessels and prevents assembling of thrombocytes. 2) Has an antiviral and anti-inflammatory effect.
 Properties  Bitter, acrid, warm
 Channels  Spleen, stomach, lung, large intestine
 Function  Warms middle, directs qi downward, dissipates fullness, dries dampness, eliminates blood stasis, dissipates accumulation and strengthens gastrointestinal system.
 Clinic Usage  For distended, painful chest and abdomen, vomiting, diarrhea and wheezing.
 Cautions  Contraindicated in cases of deficient qi in spleen and stomach, loose stools, or during pregnancy.
 Dosage  3~9g
 Storage  Store in a cool, dry, tightly sealed container. Avoid dampness.
